About Us

The Chester Fabulous Ladies cycling club was formed in June 2008 following an initiative by the CTC (now known as Cycling UK).  Organised as part of Chester CTC, we hold monthly rides one Saturday morning a month, averaging 12-20 miles in the morning, at about 10 - 12 mph.  From Autumn 2012 we offered choice of a 'faster further' group, who travel at about 13-15 mph, for more experienced riders; and in Feb 2014 a beginners group was also added.  Availability of different groups is dependent on if we have enough leaders

We usually head for a variety of cafes, where we partake of cakes, tea and coffee, in good CTC tradition!  (you can find out more about CTC ,now Cycling UK, here and the ladies page of the local group website can be found here).  We always return to our starting point.

We meet at 9:30am for a coffee and to sign in, the dates can be found down the side of the blog page.  It is helpful if you can let us know you are coming, so we can gauge numbers and tailor the ride accordingly.

Any lady (or anyone who identifies as a woman) with a roadworthy bike is welcome to join us, under 18's must be accompanied by a suitable adult please.  Any questions, please get in touch!

Where?

We meet at Kingsway cafe, in Newton, Chester.  It has close links to the Greenway and country lanes north of Chester, and easy access to routes to head across and out of Chester the other way.

Parking

Please do not park in the obvious care park within the shopping area, this is
reserved for customers and residents (yes, I know we are also customers but they did not want us to park there.)  However, there are a few spaces across the road at Lime Tree Fields, or in the car park of the Dee Miller pub.  Alternatively you may be able to find a space in some local streets as there are no permits required locally.
